How can you use the On-Farm Drought Infrastructure Support Grants?

The Victorian Government, in partnership with Rural Finance, recently announced over $24million in funding and support for Victorian farmers, to assist them in preparing and responding to dry and drought conditions across the state. As part of that package, the On-Farm Drought Infrastructure Support Grants will allow eligible farm business to apply for up to $5000 in infrastructure building and improvement grants.

What are the details of the On-Farm Drought Infrastructure Support Grants?

Nearly $12million has been set aside by the Victorian government in the On-Farm Drought Infrastructure Support Grants for eligible farm businesses in East and Central Gippsland and Northern and North West Victoria. Grants range from a minimum of $1000 up to $5000. Eligible farm businesses are required to match the funding at least dollar-to-dollar.

How can you use the On-Farm Drought Infrastructure Support Grant?

Eligible infrastructure for the On-Farm Drought Infrastructure Support Grant is limited to infrastructure that would improve drought preparedness and better position your farm business to go through a drought in the future.

Such infrastructure includes new piping in your Stock Containment Areas, improving your reticulated water systems using pumps, piping, modern transportable tanks and troughs for livestock, and improving your water infrastructure for stock management.

Only new infrastructure or permanent upgrades and repairs are suitable for the On-Farm Drought Infrastructure Support Grant.
