Short run plastic moulding at Global Rotomoulding Brisbane.

Are you looking to manufacture a short run of a new plastic product? Need help with the design and prototyping? Global Rotomoulding offer turnkey services that can assist you in creating and producing the perfect product.

But what makes Global Rotomoulding better than other rotomoulding companies around Brisbane? Read on to find out!

There every step of the process.

Here at Global Rotomoulding, we don’t just manufacture your design; we help you build it. We know the ins and outs of rotomoulding like the back of our hands, and can recommend ways to produce your product with plastic that will improve its durability and stability. We’ll be there to assist during the concept design stages, through to tool design and prototyping. Heck, we even deliver your product right to your door and help you assemble it!

Focus on bespoke services.

While Global can source offshore manufacturers for large runs of products, what we enjoy most is being able to provide bespoke services. Many big factories won’t assist you to create and manufacture a one-off product or a specialised, short run. But we love it when our customers come to us with product ideas that we can really nut out!

Sometimes our customers simply come to us with a problem that needs resolving, such as our collaboration with Booth Transport. Booth Transport asked us to manufacture a sturdy toolbox that wouldn’t rust as they found that their hose reels would leak in their vehicles, resulting in expedited corrosion. So we worked with them to come up with a toolbox that would house their hoses without spreading rust around the vehicles.

Largest oven in the Southern Hemisphere.

Speaking of bespoke services, Global owns the largest rotomoulding oven in the Southern Hemisphere! You can rest assured that if you want to create a large-scale product, we’ve got you covered. We know that a lot of agricultural equipment, in particular, can be on the sizeable side. In fact, we frequently manufacture large cartage and rainwater tanks that can hold up to 45 000 litres of liquid!

We’ve also dappled in a few seriously large custom products, too, such as our collaboration with Vinidex to make the whopping AquaPro. The AquaPro is a commercial, underground water storage system with a capacity of over one million litres! We manufactured several parts for this project that all fit together like one giant jigsaw puzzle.

If you want to manufacture more of your product (because you’re so happy with it!) the good news is that we have seven ovens that can easily do the job.

Stacks of experience.

Global have been in the rotomoulding biz for 20 years and know a thing or two about how plastic and rotomoulding work together. We’ve worked on a range of custom designs and are always keen for a fresh challenge! We aren’t just your manufacturing provider; we’re also your product consultants, concept designers and tool making specialists. Design Advantages of Rotational Moulding Plastic Products

Rotational moulding, or rotomoulding for short, is a plastics manufacturing method with many design advantages. In fact, the method has become so popular in the last decade, that it’s now one of the fastest growing sectors in the plastics industry.

“Rotomolding offers tremendous design flexibility, the ability to do short runs economically and in multiple custom colours, and it makes complicated shapes easily … the tooling costs are low, which means moulds are inexpensive … it’s ideal for low-volume production and product testing.”
Dave Carter, President of RotoMould Inc.

Huge potential for plastic products

Rotomoulding has a long reputation as the best method for manufacturing polyethylene water tanks. However, recently, many manufacturers have started using the process to create plastic products for a wide range of other industries. From medical products to furniture, automotive and marine parts, agricultural tools, playgrounds, industrial garbage bins and more – the opportunities are endless!

Here are just a few of the design advantages of using rotomoulding for your next manufacturing project:

Greater durability

Rotomoulded products are made from one piece of hollow plastic, rather than welding or bolting together several parts. This means that your products are less likely to fall apart due to weak joints or corroded weld lines.

Consistent wall thickness

The application of molten plastic is very precise, which means you can create a consistent wall thickness around your products. This reinforces the product’s strength and hardiness, even at corners and defined angles.

Wide range of shapes

Plastic is a very versatile and flexible material. You can make virtually any type of custom shape or design with it. Additionally, the rotomoulding process allows for complex shapes that are very difficult to make with other materials.

Lighter weight

Plastic products are lighter than other materials such as metal, wood or concrete. This results in cheaper transportation costs, easier and less expensive installation because not as many people are required, and products that are easier to lift for the end user.

Lower production costs

Rotomoulding is a very cost efficient manufacturing method because the moulds are inexpensive to make and the process is highly scalable. Products are made using a single mould, which can be reused multiple times. Plastic is also a very cheap material to source.

Resistant to rust, corrosion and UV rays

One of the biggest design advantages of plastic is that it doesn’t rust or corrode like steel. Global’s products are also boosted by UV stabilisers, which help to protect them from harmful UV rays and degradation by the sun.

Variety of finishes, textures and colours

With rotomoulding, you can achieve a number of different finishing textures that add depth and dimension to your product. From smooth and shiny to rough and textured. You can also add logos and graphics and even add speckles and metallics to your poly mix.

Safer for humans

Our poly mix complies with the Australian standards AS 2070 (plastics for food contact use) and AS/NZS 4020 (products for use in contact with drinking water), which means your end users can rest assured that their loved ones are safe when they use your products.

The Toughest Poly Tanks Under the Sun

Tough rainwater tanks are one of the best ways to become more water self-sufficient, but not all tanks are up to scratch when it comes to handling the Australian sun! We take a look at what it takes to withstand the Aussie climate…

Australia experiences some of the highest levels of UV radiation in the world. In fact, just this week BOM announced that the UV index would reach levels of 16 in Brisbane! To put that in perspective, The World Health Organisation warns against spending time outside when the UV index tops 11, which is considered extreme.

Now, imagine sitting outside all day, every day, in the same position with these extreme UV levels. You would be absolutely buggered, right? Well, over time, UV exposure to unstabilised water storage tanks can result in a similar effect. The harsh Australian sun can compromise molecular structure, misshapen and discolour, as well as cause the tank walls to become brittle. As a result, cutting-edge technology in polyethylene manufacturing is required to ensure reliability and durability for the long term.

Meet Global Rotomoulding’s UV Stabilised Tanks

Most poly tanks will degrade quickly when exposed to harmful ultraviolet rays, unless they’re manufactured with UV Stabilisers. At Global Rotomoulding, we add UV Stabilisers to our poly mix to not only ensure that your tank is better protected from the sun, but also to protect you and your family from drinking water that’s contaminated by floating plastic particles. We make tough rainwater tanks that are the best option for storing water in Australia.

All of our poly tanks comply with the Australian standards AS 2070 (plastics for food contact use) and AS/NZS 4020 (products for use in contact with drinking water). So you can rest assured that the water stored in them is safe for you and your family to drink, even after many hot days in the sun!

The importance of installing your tank in the shade

Your tank’s location can affect how long it lasts. Ideally, you should position your tank in a shady spot to keep your water temperature low and reduce evaporation. Light and heat can also make algae grow in water tanks. However, if you live in a very hot location with limited shade available, we recommend selecting a thick-walled tank that won’t allow sunlight to get in, or opt for an underground rainwater tank.

Trusted by farmers in the Australian outback

There’s no place hotter or drier than the Aussie outback! In rural and remote towns, freshwater is a limited and valuable commodity. Living and surviving in this type of climate depends on the use of water collected in UV Stabilised rainwater tanks. Global Rotomoulding’s tanks are built to withstand the demands of daily use and the harsh Australian sun. The quality of our products is guaranteed, and we are proud to have maintained our standard of excellence for 20 years.

Why Global’s Tanks are the Best Cartage Tanks in Australia

When it comes to cartage tanks, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better range than those produced by Global. Not only are there tonnes of varieties to choose from, but they all include the same superior design. What makes them superior? You’re about to find out!

Strong and Sturdy

The number one priority for an Australian cartage tank is that it can handle all the bumps and turns of your vehicle and safely contain its contents. At Global, we make our transportable tanks out of low-density polyethene and use roto-moulding to form the perfect shape for each tank. This material is highly flexible in the design process but completely shock and crack resistant in its final design. We know, it sounds too good to be true! But if you’re looking for a reliable cartage tank, a roto-moulded plasic design is definitely the way to go. An Australian cartage tank is designed to endure the harsh environments and conditions of the country. If you want a product that lasts, Global has been making sturdy poly products for years!

UV Stabilised

It’s difficult to ignore just how hot the Australian Summer is. Especially if you’re out working on the land every day. Australia’s unique conditions mean that agricultural products need to be designed with these factors in mind. At Global, we ensure that all of our cartage tanks are UV stabilised so that the constant beating of the sun doesn’t wear down your tank faster or heat up its contents to a dangerous temperature.

Food Grade Plastic

Using your transportable tank to courier feed around your farm? Global’s cartage tanks are the best option! Each tank is made from food grade plastic, and you even have the ability to colour code them if you choose to purchase more than one. This way, you’ll always know which tank is used for feed and which for chemicals such as fertiliser or diesel, to avoid cross-contamination.

Variety of mounting options

Our cartage tanks range from 35L spray tanks to 1500L Bigfoot tanks. This means that they also come in a variety of mounting options to suit the weight and size of the tank. Our tanks can be pin mounted, strap mounted or insert mounted. Our heavier tanks such as our Bigfoot range have seriously heavy duty feet and even come with the additional feature of an optional water-holding tank in the foot! Rest assured that no matter what cartage tank you purchase, it’ll always be safely secured.

5-year Warranty

All of our transportable tanks come with a 5-year warranty, though it’s very rare that you’ll ever have to use it! Global manufactures each product with the utmost attention to detail to ensure that every single tank is going to serve its purpose for many years to come.
