EcoTechnology – Siphon for Septic Tank
Home / Case Studies / EcoTechnology – Siphon for Septic Tank
The challenge
In traditional septic systems, a continuous trickle of wastewater can lead to waterlogging and trench failure, reducing the system’s efficiency and lifespan.
A more effective solution was needed—one that would:
- Ensure even distribution of wastewater across the entire trench surface.
- Prevent waterlogging and premature trench failure.
- Operate without electrical pumps, reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs.
- Provide a reliable, long-term solution for wastewater disposal systems.

The solution
To address these issues, we developed a low-energy dosing siphon designed for septic tanks. The system:
- Delivers a controlled flush of water at set intervals, optimising trench performance.
- Eliminates the risk of continuous trickle flow, preventing waterlogging and increasing the system’s lifespan.
- Operates without electricity, relying solely on water pressure to function—making it an efficient, sustainable solution.
- Requires minimal maintenance, providing a cost-effective alternative to pump-based dosing systems.
